Green friendly, meet green friendly
When you choose to drive green, we think you should save some green too. That’s why we’ve partnered with the EPA’s SmartWay® Program to expand our green vehicle discount to over 1,500 emission- and fuel-friendly vehicles.
When you’re ready to hit the street in a SmartWay car or truck, we’ll help you save some green by reducing your rate by .25% APR. The discount is good on all SmartWay certified vehicles with a maximum 100,000 miles.
Find your green auto fast. Just start with the EPA’s complete list. Notice how a vehicle’s Air Pollution Score and Greenhouse Gas Score add up. To receive the SmartWay designation, a vehicle must get a 6 or better in both areas with a total score of at least 13. To be a SmartWay Elite vehicle, it has to score a 9 or better in each category.
Get pre-qualified right now or at any branch for the .25% APR reduction. Or just head over to your local Credit Union Direct Lending dealership or Autoland representative and ask for First Tech financing while you shop. We’ll make sure you get the discount.
Think forward and socially responsible. If you’re not driving a SmartWay designated vehicle, there are ways you can help the environment and save some money too. The EPA suggests the following to reduce greenhouse gasses and air pollution for any vehicle.
Drive smart. Stay within the speed limit, use your cruise control whenever possible and avoid sudden starts or stops. Doing so can conserve fuel.
Maintain your vehicle. Follow your manufacturer’s suggested maintenance schedule to keep your car or truck running at peak performance. Also check your car’s air filter and tire pressure regularly.
Drive less. Combining trips and errands, using public transportation and even bicycling to work can help reduce pollution.
Don’t top off the tank. Topping off the tank wastes fuel and emits toxic fumes into the air.
Use alternative fuels. The EPA suggests alternative fuels for flex fuel vehicles (FFV). These fuels blend 85% ethanol with traditional gas. For a list of area stations that pump alternative fuels, click here.
